OVERVIEW

Our best-selling alloy clincher wheelset is the Race SL and a favorite with racers and enthusiasts looking for a wheelset with precise handling, ride quality and speed. It's the perfect wheelset for road racing, criteriums and triathlon. It's already one of the best-reviewed bike wheels on the market and for 2014 we made it even better.

We've improved the Race SL wheelset with a new rim profile that is wider and stiffer. At 23mm wide, our new rim design improves tire performance by shortening the tire's sidewalls and producing a wider contact patch. The 30mm rim profile provides confidence-inspiring turning as well as the stiffness and aerodynamics that seasoned riders demand.

We lace our innovative rim to our own ROL hubs, designed with years of wheel building experience. The hubs minimize the spoke tension differential on the rear wheel, producing a more evenly tensioned wheel for maximum durability. To complete the package we spec'd the sought after Sapim CX-Ray spokes and lightweight brass locking nipples.

At 1,555 grams, the Race SL wheelset provides a lively ride you'll appreciate when you accelerate out of crit corners, or head out for the county line sprint.

Incredible Wheel Set

When I was building my Colnago I talked to Sean regarding wheel selection. I was looking for a high performance but durable wheel set as I would be putting a lot of miles on the bike. I’m 200 pounds +/- 5 so they would be tested. Sean built me a set of SLRs which now have over 21,000 miles. I changed my brake pads recently and noted both wheels are still perfectly true. Had to write a review as these wheels have exceeded all expectations. One set of bearings which is to be expected. Great looking wheels, great customer service, great performance .. Hard to praise Sean (no relation) and these wheels enough.

Race SL wheels

I purchased a set of these wheels 4 years ago as a set of training wheels so I could "save" my carbon wheels for race days. I put them on and put a fair number of miles on them (500 or so) and noticed immediately how smooth and capable they were at everything. Obviously better than my aero carbon wheels at climbing, but as time went on realized how great they were at long tempo efforts as well. Steady and stable on fast descents and not susceptible to cross wind shear. I can honestly say that these are the best "do everything" wheel I've ever ridden. Bottom line, I now have 3 sets, so the kids don't steal mine! Best wheel value out there by far.

These wheels are amazing.

I have been riding on the Race SL's for about four years now. I love them. I just had the opportunity tonight to try a set of Shimano WH7900 C-50 wheels that were essentially brand new and I could have bought them for $300.00 They are pretty...but heavier and slower than the Race SL's. I love my wheels. They are super fast, light, and stay perfectly true. Amazing wheels!!

Great set of wheels

I purchase a set of ROL RaceSL, laced 24 front, 28 back wheels in 2009 with DT Swiss 240S hubs. To date I have 23,300 miles on them. The rear has even more from winter riding on the trainer. I have toured from Maine to Key West Fla., completed numerous 200, 300 and 400 K’s and have ridden through numerous rain filled rides. The quality of the wheels has been outstanding. Never a problem. A few spokes have broken over the years but that’s expected. Have had the wheels trued a few times with only minor adjustments. Thanks ROL wheels for building a great product and for building headache free wheels
