MTB XC - OUR NEW CROSS COUNTRY RACE RIM

Please Allow a 4-5 Week Lead Time for our carbon mountain bike rims. Each rim is built to order with our customers specifications in mind. Usually it takes about 2-3 weeks process time for the building of a rim.  

Our MTBXC Race wheels are available with ROL, White Industries, ONYX or Chris King hubs. If you are interested in DT Swiss hubs, please contact us and wE will set up a special order as soon as we are able to verify availability.

Our wheels are available with Shimano HG, Shimano MS (MicroSpline), and SRAM XD/XDR freehubs.

OVERVIEW

Our new Carbon Race rim overall depth profile fluctuates between 18.1mm and 21mm, creating an ribbed inner circumference. The combination of the stepped sidewall and shaped rim bed provide an increased amount of compliance. A finely-tuned Toray T700 layup features layers of carbon nanotubes in key areas to further the vibration damping properties. Carbon nanotubes increase impact resistance by 10% without adding weight. This rim rips on singletrack, yet is amazingly light and strong.

 This amazing rim is paired with our MTB hubs, which are durable, yet roll smoothly with their sealed precision bearings. Or, if you have a hub preference, we can build them up with White Industries, Onyx or Chris King hubs. DT Swiss hubs may also be available for your builds. The rims are laced with Sapim Race double butted spokes that are strong and light. We also use locking brass nipples for our builds for durability.  

Recommended rider weight limit is 298 lbs for the standard and 198 pounds for the flyweight. Above 240 pounds, we recommend the 32 hole Clydesdale build. 

Every wheelset is hand built to perfection in Colorado.  

The MTB XC Carbon Race Wheels can be ordered online with the 15x110 Boost front hub and a 12x148 Boost rear hub. Other hub combinations are available via special order. Contact us to check on their availability and to set up a special order.Email tom@rolwheels.com for any special requests.

Named after the Iconic Rattler Race Series in Colorado, the Rattler XC Race is amazing. The Rattler rims are similar in weight as several carbon rims in its category. The build quality makes these wheels extremely durable.

The Rattler XC Race is Currently available with boost spacing - 15x110, 12x148, but we can do a custom order with other axle sizes as well. We have you covered on the drivetrain as well. We offer Shimano HG, Shimano MicroSpline and SRAM XD  freehubs.

The Rattler XC  has bombproof, do it all mountain bike rim. We improve the stiffness, strength and longevity of a wheel by using an asymmetric (ASYM) rim design that improves spoke tension balance by up to 30%. On the trail, this translates to precise handling you can rely on. Add a 32mm internal width for ideal support of fat rubber and smooth rolling with little resistance.

This rim is the result of a combination of engineering and testing to provide a lightweight, durable alloy race rim. It is designed for XC racing, but is able to handle everyday riding as well.

Currently we are building this with ROL Boost hubs designed for e-bike usage. They are available in boost spacing. 15 x 110 Front / 12 x 142 Rear. Freehubs available are: Shimano HG Steel, Shimano MicroSpline, and the SRAM XD freehub.

With the popularity of e-bikes, we have received many requests for e-bike specific wheels that can withstand the extra miles, laps, drops, weight, torque and fun that an e-bike can produce. We are offering the wheels in both 27.5 and 29er builds. 

Our hubs have been designed for extra durability with a steel axle and stronger freehubs to handle the extra power delivered with the drivetrain.

Every wall of the rim is 25-30% thicker in comparison to those of standard rims, which are then paired with the proven I-Beam center support to ensure no beating was too great for these rims.

The recommended rider and bike weight limit is 315 lbs.
